The Australian women secured their debut win in the FIM Women’s World Trophy class as the 2013 ISDE wrapped up in Olibia, Sardinia, Italy. Congratulations also goes out to Shelby Turner of Canada for ranking a respectable 6th place overall out of the 16 women competitors. France have been crowned the FIM World Trophy champions at the centennial running of the FIM International Six Days Enduro (ISDE) in Olbia, Sardinia. It was also a winning result for France in the FIM Junior World Trophy team competition.

Living up to pre-race expectations, France delivered a dominant performance during the eighty-eighth edition of the ISDE to successfully defend their FIM World Trophy crown. Entering the sixth and final day of the weeklong event with a comfortable advantage over their nearest challengers, they simply needed to cruise their way to the finish to ensure victory. Ending the traditional final motocross third overall, they topped the overall World Trophy classification by over thirteen minutes from the United States.

Favourites for a strong result in the final motocross event, the United States stayed true to form and won day six. Beating host nation Italy by over four minutes in the final classification, the US secured the runner-up result in this year’s ISDE.
After a disappointing start to their week, Italy eventually ended their race in third overall. Completing the top five, Australia and Spain were fourth and fifth respectively. Capping off an impressive week for the French, France had extra reason to celebrate having also secured a winning result in the FIM Junior World Trophy team category. Recording a start to finish victory, they also won the final day of competition to end their week six minutes and thirty-six seconds clear of runner up Italy. Unable to get the better of their French rivals on day six, Italy were second fastest and cemented their position as runner-up. Placing just ten seconds behind Italy on day six, Great Britain, secured third overall in the race. The United States and Sweden rounded out the top five.

Breaking France’s five-year reign, Australia won the FIM Women’s World Trophy competition. Controlling the race lead from day one, the trio of Jessica Gardiner – Sherco, Tayla Jones – KTM and Jemma Wilson – Yamaha delivered yet another flawless performance on day six to clinch the title. Third fastest on day six, Sweden did more than enough to secure the runner-up result in this year’s ISDE. France completed the podium in third. Ending their week in fourth and fifth respectively, Canada and Italy rounded out the top five, with the United States – second fastest on day six – placing sixth overall.

In the Enduro 1 class, ISDE rookie Zach Osborne – Honda delivered a start to finish win in his motocross race. Riding a conservative race for seventh, Spain’s Cristobal Guerrero – KTM took home the overall honours in E1. France’s Jeremy Joly – Honda and Spain’s Lorenzo Santolino – Husqvarna ended their week second and third respectively. Securing his third consecutive day win in the Enduro 2 category, Italy’s Alex Salvini was fastest on day six. Placing fourteenth following a crash, Australia’s Daniel Milner – Yamaha secured the E2 win in this year’s ISDE. France’s Pierre Alexandre Renet – Husaberg and Johnny Aubert – KTM completed the podium. Dominating the motocross race from start to finish, Michael Brown – KTM won the Enduro 3 class on day six. Fifth on day six, Antoine Meo – KTM took the overall win in the outright classification while also topping E3. Mathias Bellino – Husaberg was second with Brown completing the top three.
