CONFERENCE TO BE HELD IN ALBERTA

WRIF websquareCalgary AB – December 17, 2012: Women in the Wind Chinook Outriders Chapter (WITW) and the Women Riders Council of the Motorcyclists Confederation of Canada (MCC) are partnering to present a women riders conference in Alberta on August 15 – 18, 2013 at the Stoney Nakoda Casino and Resort, on the TransCanada Hwy, 45 minutes west of Calgary.

Open to all women riders across Canada, the US and elsewhere, the conference will feature a full slate of inspirational speakers, coaching seminars, interactive workshops, sponsor and vendor product showcases, demo rides, and scenic rides. “The increase of women riders is one of the most exciting developments in the motorcycling community over the past decade,” said Planning Committee Co-Chair Mary Johnson. “Motorcycling is a convenient, modern, affordable, community- and family-oriented and increasingly eco-friendly mode of transportation, recreational activity and sport. The growth of the number of women motorcycling underscores the need for addressing the specific needs of women riders as well as build on their experiences to enrich the riding experiences for all.”

“This conference is an excellent opportunity for women riders to gather, in a supportive environment, and learn new skills, meet and ride with other women as well as enjoy the beauty and diversity of our country,” noted Co-Chair Mary Caldwell. “Conference participants will benefit from a full slate of presentations on topics ranging from seasonal safety tips, to selecting the appropriate helmet and gear, eating healthy on the road, and becoming an advocate for the motorcycle lifestyle. Featured interactive presentations include An Introduction to Off-Road Motorcycling; Competitive Riding for Women; and the Essentials of Motorcycle Mechanics. Other events will be announced as added to the agenda. Join the WRC Facebook page, or follow us on Twitter for more information.
