  1. I just bought a used 2010 R1200RT yesterday. I’m female and it’s a big bike for me…I was nervous; I csn’t deny it. But the maiden voyage of about 150 miles helped. It’s the largest bike I’ve ever ridden. I enjoyed the article and it has encouraged just to keep riding it and get used to the size. Thank you.

    1. HI Vicki

I love that bike. Yes I agree it is big and I am a tall gal but it is such a superb bike. I would love to see a photo of you and your bike. How long have you been riding?

  2. Nice article. I just got mine 1 month ago. After 3500km, i can say SWEET ride. It is a bit intimidating at first but as long as you practice low speed maneuvres ofter, you’re good.

It is tall. I am 5’6″. I may back it up by hand if needed. That’s the only downside.

    Watch for the Blue Rocket!!!

  3. Hi,
I read your review the other week on the BMW R1200RT and decided to give one a go. So I have just spent the weekend getting use to my new ride a 2013 BMW R1200RT, Great bike!!
I too was a cruiser rider with the rumble of the exhaust my companion (along with Hubby on his cruiser).
I agree I could ride the BMW anywhere, town, country and highways. Looking forward to longer trips now.
On my second ride on the bike I got caught in a big thunderstorm, (I’m in Australia) It was a tough ride with wind and rain testing both mine and the bikes ability. But we got through it soaked to the skin but in one piece.
    Thanks
    Cathy

    1. So excited to hear Cathy! I just came back from test riding 5 new cruisers and was asked what my favourite bike was – it is still the R1200RT. Happy riding!
